Teams From Hell

There are 4 key reasons why teams don't work....

1. We are trying to be a team when in fact we need to remain a group. Think Real Estate. Real Estate Agensts are financially motivated to work alone - being in a team is actually counter productive to their individual bottom line results.

2. Recruitment processes are not designed to select people who are team players.

3. The team process is not set up correctly to begin with - ground rules are not agreed to - processes for dealing with conflict are not in place and so personality clashes fester

4. There is no strong leadership to keep the team on track and on target.

I have worked with teams or almost 20 years and continue to learn more about what makes them work and what causes them to fail.......I also know that considerable pain and stress is caused in a team from hell....so each day I will post a few tips and techniques which may be of use to the readers of this blog.
